With all of the new breweries opening in NJ, there are more and more label approvals coming through the system.  To keep these "Upcoming NJ Beers" posts shorter, I am going to try and post them every two weeks instead of once a month. Howdy everyone!  Let's check out the NJ beer label approvals from the last month! Beach Haus Brewery Looks like Beach Haus Brewery is gearing up to expand their portolio with these six bottle labels Bolero Snort Brewery Enjoying spring so far?  Some bottles of Bolero Snort's recent bottle release, Tabull Saison, may help! Cape May Brewing Company Cape May Brewing received keg label approval for South Jersey Seccession Session Scottish Ale.  Gordon Ramsay r ecently tapped a cask of this beer at the opening of one of his pubs in Atlantic City. Conclave Brewing I'm very excited to see keg label approvals from yet to open Conclave Brewing.  Hopefully this means they will be opening in Raritan Twp, NJ sooner rather than later!  They received keg label approvals for their Pale Ale, Saison Farmhouse Ale and their Stout. Here are all of the NJ label approvals since my 02/08/15 update Angry Erik Brewing:   Mary-Shroom , a winter saison ale brewed with mushrooms (porcini, oyster, shitake, portabello, black trumpet) and rosemary (5.8% ABV), saw an updated keg approval. Cape May Brewing :  The team at Cape May Brewing saw a number of keg approvals, including Watermelon Wheat , Apple Bomb , Corrosion Ale and Cold Spring Pale Ale . Cricket Hill Brewing:   Cricket Hill had two keg labels approved.  One was for a Blu Ale House Ale , and the other was for Gray Stone Seasonal Ale .  Sadly, I don't have any other information on these two beers at this time. Flounder Brewing:  Flounder saw keg label approval of their Espresso Brown ale.  Not long ago they had a keg of this on tap at Fox and Hound Tavern in Lebanon, NJ.  Hopefully they will keep brewing more of it!  So it's official.  There will be a Star Wars Episode VII , and the screenplay will be written by Michael Arndt ( Little Miss Sunshine, Toy Story 3) .  As a long time Star Wars fan, even though I was for the most part disappointed with the prequels, I can't help but feel excited and a little giddy.  I don't think the timeline has been officially announced, but since they're calling it Episode VII , I am assuming it will take place after the events in Return of the Jedi .  There are many directions Disney/Lucasfilm can take, either starting up right after Return of the Jedi , or going farther into the future.  Either way, it will definitely be interesting to see how everything pans out. Tonight I am drinking a bourbon-barrel aged barleywine from Cricket Hill Brewery .  There is no stamp on the bottle of when it was bottled, so I'm not really sure how old this barleywine is.  There is also no listed %ABV on the bottle. The first day of fall isn't until September 22, but the weather here in NJ is telling a different story.  Jogging has been great in the relatively cooler temps we've been having, and with high temps only in the 70s for the next 10 days, and relatively low humidity, those pumpkin and Oktoberfest beers that have been on the liquor store shelves for the last month (or in some cases longer), are finally starting to look good!  I picked up a 6-pack of Cricket Hill's Fall Festivus from Little Brothers Beverage Outlet in Flemington, NJ.  Cricket Hill is a brewery in Fairfield, NJ, not too far from where I live.  I really need to make the short trip up to Fairfield to check them out! According to Cricket Hill's website, their Fall Festivus is 4.8% and 42 IBUs.  It pours a copper/orange color, with about a two finger width head that sticks around for awhile.  Hops in the aroma and taste, mostly piney.  There's a slight biscuity flavor.  That's about ...
